Danish Saleem is a Senior Researcher specializing in Energy Systems Cybersecurity and Resilience at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since June 2016. As the Principal Investigator for a $2.5 million DOE CEDS funded project, Danish leads the development of a low-cost, vendor-agnostic encryption module for securing distributed energy resource communications. Danish's previous roles include providing technical assistance in DC Systems SCADA, integration of distributed energy resources into grid simulations, and supporting various cybersecurity R&D projects. Danish has also held positions as an Electrical Engineer at Descon Engineering Limited, an Electrical Engineering Intern at multiple organizations, and contributed as a Research Assistant on a high-penetration renewable energy project at Florida International University, where a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering was obtained after earning a Bachelor of Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology.
