Abdelrahim Hassan is a distinguished academic in the field of Food Safety and Technology, currently serving as a Professor and Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the School of Biotechnology at Nile University since December 2022. With extensive experience as an External Auditor at the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education and a Certified ServSafe Food Safety Instructor for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, Abdelrahim has also held significant positions at Beni-Suef University, including Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center and Vice-head of the Department of Food Safety and Technology. Prior roles include visiting faculty positions at Penn State University and postdoctoral research at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia. Abdelrahim earned a Ph.D. in Food Safety and Technology from Beni-Suef University, completing a strong academic journey that includes multiple degrees from prestigious institutions.

As the philanthropic foundation of the National Restaurant Association, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s mission of service to the public is dedicated to enhancing the industry’s training and education, career development and community engagement efforts. The NRAEF and its programs work to ATTRACT, EMPOWER and ADVANCE today’s and tomorrow’s restaurant and foodservice workforce. NRAEF programs include: ProStart® – a high-school career and technical education program; Restaurant Ready – partnering with community based organizations to provide “opportunity youth” with skills training and job opportunities; Military – helping military servicemen and women transition their skills to restaurant and foodservice careers; Scholarships – financial assistance for students pursuing restaurant, foodservice and hospitality degrees; and, the Hospitality Sector Registered Apprenticeship Project – a partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association providing a hospitality apprenticeship program for the industry.
