Thomas Schumacher is a seasoned healthcare operations executive with extensive experience in program development and service line innovation. Currently serving as Program Director at the National Rural Health Resource Center since May 2025, Thomas previously held the role of Director of Operations at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare from 2019 to 2024, overseeing outpatient operations for a leading nonprofit critical access hospital. Prior to this, Thomas directed physical therapy and behavioral health operations at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and worked as a staff physical therapist at Supplemental Health Care and OccMed Colorado LLC. Thomas holds a Master of Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is licensed in seven states.
