Bill Shanahan, PMP, has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Bill started their career at Nortel Networks in 1991 and worked as a Senior Software Test Engineer until 1996. During their time at Nortel, they provided Object Oriented design test methodology and training to the development team.
In 1996, Bill became the VoIP Development Manager at Nortel, leading a team of 24 designers in the implementation of device drivers and Digital Signal Processors for media access gateways. Bill also merged Software and Hardware Abstraction Layer teams, improving synergy and quality. In 2000, they became the ISDN PRI SW Development Manager, where they recruited and managed a team of 10 and implemented a robustness program for ISDN PRI.
Bill joined Cygnacom Solutions in 2005 as the Lab Manager, where they generated significant revenue by directing a team of 10 IT Security evaluators in completing 15 software evaluations. Bill also worked as an IT Security Test Engineer, evaluating the Windows based LDMS desktop management system.
In 2009, they joined Corsec Security as the Lead Security Engineer for a year before joining Elster in 2010 as a Sr. Project Manager. At Elster, Bill managed all aspects of Smart Grid (AMI/AMR) solution deployments and led several concurrent multi-million dollar AMI projects.
Most recently, Bill has been working at the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) since 2015 as the Director of Operations and AMI, overseeing the organization's operations and AMI projects.
Throughout their career, Bill has demonstrated strong project management skills and a track record of delivering successful projects.
Bill Shanahan, PMP has completed relevant courses in Oracle 10g, SAS Programming I, and Intro to JAVA at Wake Technical Community College. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
