Dominique M. David-Chavez is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Indigenous Natural Resource Stewardship at Colorado State University since August 2015. With a strong background in education outreach as a Native American Cultural Center North Star Peer Mentor, Dominique has also held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Forest and Rangeland Stewardship Department. Additionally, since July 2019, Dominique has been a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow and has been involved with the National Science Foundation as a Graduate Research Fellow since May 2015. Dominique earned a PhD in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from Colorado State University in 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from Montana State University-Bozeman, obtained in 2014.
