Sean has proven experience across life science industries and an established track record of successfully completing challenging executive searches in the biotech and pharma industries ranging from senior individual contributors to Director, VP, and C-level positions. Understanding that an organization’s success is directly tied to the quality of the team it assembles, he brings a strong work sense of purpose to each search, with a focus on fostering relationships with, and understand the needs and goals of, his clients and candidates.
Starting his career in the pharmaceutical industry, in sales and marketing roles at Bayer and Merck & Co., Sean had the opportunity to spend a lot of time alongside ER, OR, and Critical Care physicians at leading teaching hospitals, and developed an understanding and an interest in the role that breakthrough therapeutics can have on the lives of critically ill patients. It was shortly after this that he entered the search industry, specializing in recruiting accomplished scientists and physicians, bringing new therapies to market with leading companies in the biotech and pharma industries.
Sean has over a decade of experience in the search industry in life sciences and leads a full cycle practice at National Search Associates, a leading national life science-focused search firm focused on providing superior service and results to startups, mid-size biotechs and Fortune 500 companies. His experience and network in life science industries provides a strong foundation from which to understand the nuances and finer points unique to each bioscience search, with a focus on identifying candidates and teams who possess not only the technical knowledge and skills, but also the right energy, leadership, and experience to succeed.
Sean earned his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology from University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
