Mike Dodd

Mike Dodd is the VP of Strategic Relationships at National Security Technology Accelerator. Mike has over 25 years of experience in computer science and technology management.

Mike started their career as a Computer Specialist for the Department of Education in Botswana. Mike then moved to the UNDP, where they spent 11 years as a Learning Specialist. In this role, they were responsible for managing the design, content, coordination and maintenance of the corporate online UNDP Learning Portal (OnDemand). Mike also delivered prescriptive content and step-by-step learning for UNDP corporate systems (Atlas/Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning, Performance Appraisal System, Learning Management System and Educational Assistance Programme). OnDemand received a notably high customer satisfaction rating (77%) in the Global Products and Services Survey.

Mike also managed the Educational Assistance Programme (EAP) for UNDP. EAP provides a means for self-motivated staff to seek funding assistance towards an external academic qualification leading to a Certificate, Diploma, Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree which is beneficial towards their work and future career. A popular programme which allows staff to initiate and develop their own career learning.

In addition, Mike managed the Intensive Language Training (ILT) Programme for Senior Managers. ILT provides an opportunity for language immersion for senior staff upon reassignment to a duty station where fluency in the country’s official language is a requirement and must be achieved as quickly

Mike Dodd has a post graduate certificate of education from the University of Oxford, a post graduate diploma in computer science from Birkbeck, University of London, and a BSc in general science with a focus in physics and computing from Durham University.
