Paul Porter, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the National Speech & Debate Association since May 2022, leading efforts to enhance participation from marginalized groups in competitive speech and debate. Prior experience includes roles as Director of Diversity & Inclusion at the University of Saint Francis, focusing on recruitment and retention of underrepresented students, and as Director of Programs and Evaluation for Diversity Affairs at Indiana University School of Medicine, where responsibilities included program development and policy advising on diversity matters. Additional positions include Director of Multicultural Affairs at The University of Scranton and Lecturer of Communication at Marian University Indianapolis. Paul Porter holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Indiana State University, along with a Master's degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Ball State University.
