Laura Withers, IOM is vice president of strategic communications for NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association. She oversees communication of NTCA’s mission, objectives, policy positions and employee benefits offerings to enhance and increase the association’s visibility. Since joining NTCA in 2012, Withers has helped promote small, rural telecom companies as technology solution providers delivering the broadband future for rural America by, among other things, contributing to the association’s Smart Rural CommunitySM program, a network of more than 100 rural communities leveraging broadband-enabled applications to support innovative economic development, agriculture, education, health care and public safety. She is passionate about telling great stories, and before joining NTCA, was a newspaper reporter and editor. Laura serves as the staff liaison to the marketing committee.

NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association is the premier association representing nearly 850 independent, community-based telecommunications companies that are leading innovation in rural and small-town America. NTCA advocates on behalf of its members in the legislative and regulatory arenas, and it provides training and development; publications and industry events; and an array of employee benefit programs.
