Vicki Mortimer is a Board Member at National Theatre. Vicki has previous experience as a Swing Flyman at The Really Useful Group Ltd and as a Stage Technician at English National Opera.
Mortimer’s experience as a Stage Technician has involved their in designing and leading a team to implement a method for rigging numerous shows including but not limited to: “Beginning” (Dorfman, 2017), “Connections” (Dorfman, 2017 & 2018) “Stories” (Dorfman 2018) “Home, I’m Darling” (Dorfman 2019) “Death of England” (Dorfman 2019) “Top Girls” (Lyttelton 2019) “Master Harold and the Boys” (Lyttelton 2019) “Seven Streams of the River Ota” (Lyttelton 2020) “Pericles” (Olivier 2018) "Up Next" Gala (Olivier 2019) “My Brilliant Friend” (Olivier 2019) “Secret River” (Olivier 2019). This role involved working to tight budgets to provide the rigging requirements for designers at the pinnacle of the theatre industry whilst remaining LOLER, WAH AND HSWA compliant.
Additionally, as part of this role, Mortimer wrote and delivered rigging courses covering legislation, theoretical and practical elements to the stage department.
Vicki Mortimer studied philosophy at the University of London's College of Philosophy, where they specialized in the field of 2.1.
