Branch Chief - Hazardous Materials at National Transportation Safety Board

Bob Clatterbuck currently serves as the Branch Chief for Hazardous Materials at the National Transportation Safety Board since May 2023. Prior to this role, Clatterbuck spent nearly seven years at the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), where responsibilities included senior investigator roles in accident investigation and managing multi-agency coordination to enhance the safety of lithium battery transportation. Experience also includes leading security operations at a church in Minnesota, supervising investigators at the US DOT, and holding various positions within the TSA and the Federal Aviation Administration, focusing on aviation security and hazardous materials enforcement. Clatterbuck holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Education and Bible from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul.
