James Mathieson

Digital Services Division Chief at National Transportation Safety Board

James Mathieson is the current Digital Services Division Chief at the National Transportation Safety Board. Prior to this, they worked as the webmaster for SeaWeb from July 2009 to September 2010, where they were responsible for creating, programming, and managing all of SeaWeb's web properties. James also coordinated the uploading, maintenance, and accessibility of web site content among content creators across the organization, and ensured that the website and servers were always functioning properly. In addition, James Mathieson researched, developed, and implemented search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, social networking opportunities, and other digital tools and technologies to extend the reach of the organization. James also managed e-newsletters, e-mail messages, event postings, and other online communications to subscribers and other e-mail lists, and developed and implemented protocols for enhanced e-newsletter and other online data archive capacity. Furthermore, they monitored, analyzed, and reported on Web site, e-newsletter, and other electronic communications usage data, and worked with staff to achieve continuous quality improvement of online products and services. Finally, James Mathieson provided input for technology and online communications budgets and managed vendors as needed.

James Mathieson has a MS in Interactive Media from Quinnipiac University and a BA in Theirtory from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

James Mathieson reports to Sharon Bryson, Managing Director. They work with Casey Blaine - Deputy General Counsel, Eric Weiss - Media Relations Division Chief, and Paula Sind-Prunier - NTSB Training Center Director.
