Liz Girling

Liz Girling is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the cultural and heritage sectors. As the People Engagement Director at the National Trust since May 2014, Liz has been instrumental in shaping strategic direction across various domains, including marketing, communications, and visitor experience in Wales. Prior roles include Operations Manager and Development Manager at the Heritage Lottery Fund, where Liz managed cross-departmental projects and stakeholder relations. Additionally, as a Heritage Consortium Fellow within the Clore Leadership Programme, Liz contributed to significant projects and engaged with international funders. Liz's career began in fundraising, with positions at Vision 21 and Hijinx Theatre, highlighting a strong background in financial strategy and stakeholder engagement. Liz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
