Declan Staunton has over three decades of experience in the IT and engineering sectors, currently serving as the Head of IT Security, Head of Architecture, Strategy and Research, and Head of Business Continuity at the University of Galway since May 2013. Prior to this, Declan held the position of Engineering Program Manager at Hewlett-Packard from March 2011 to April 2013, focusing on Mission Critical Services. Declan's extensive background includes roles as Business Development Manager, Program Manager, and Principal Systems Architect at Silicon & Software Systems from April 1997 to March 2011, as well as various positions such as Systems Architect and Senior Design Engineer at STMicroelectronics from October 1990 to April 1997. Declan obtained an Executive MBA from the University of Galway in 2010 and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Experimental Physics from the same institution in 1990.
