Erin A. McCarthy

Erin A. McCarthy is an Established Professor of English Literature and Computational Humanities at the University of Galway, where McCarthy also serves as a Senior Research Fellow and Principal Investigator of the STEMMA project, starting in September 2022. Prior to this role, McCarthy held positions at the University of Newcastle as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer, focusing on digital humanities and English studies from February 2019 to July 2022. Previous experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at NUI Galway, an Assistant Director at the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and an Editor at inVentiv Communications. McCarthy's early career featured teaching and administrative roles at The Ohio State University, alongside editorial assistant work for academic journals. McCarthy's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Early modern English literature and a Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge, currently in progress.
