Perfecto Caparas

Perfecto Caparas has a diverse and extensive work experience. They started in 2006 at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where they served in various roles, including Associate Director of Graduate Programs. They also worked as a Journalist for Pressenza International Press Agency in 2021. In 2022, they held multiple positions at the National University of the Union of Myanmar - Global Campus, including Founding Director, Center for Holistic International Human Rights Law Praxis, Teaching Fellow, and Lead Researcher. In 2022 and 2023, they joined Indiana University - Kelley School of Business as an Academic Advisor and Indiana University School of Education as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.

Perfecto Caparas has a strong educational background in law and human rights. Perfecto obtained a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) degree in International Human Rights Law, International Criminal Law, and International Humanitarian Law from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2024. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in American Law for Foreign Lawyers from the same university in 2005. Perfecto also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Human Rights (Honors) from The University of Hong Kong, completed in 2001. While their undergraduate degree is not specified, they have a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) equivalent in Philosophy, certified by Manuel L. Quezon University. Additionally, Perfecto Caparas has obtained various certifications in leadership, mental health, diversity, and other relevant topics from institutions such as LinkedIn Learning and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Perfecto is also certified as an Attorney-at-Law & Counsellor-at-Law by the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
