Derek Smith

Derek Smith boasts extensive experience in arena management and operations, currently serving as General Manager at Nationwide Arena since January 2017 after holding the position of Associate General Manager. Prior to this, Derek was Senior Project Manager at Collins Building Services, Inc., overseeing housekeeping operations at Barclays Center Arena with a substantial staff and budget management responsibilities. Derek’s career includes significant roles at Madison Square Garden, where responsibilities ranged from managing extensive operating and capital budgets to coordinating large-scale events and capital improvements. Early experience includes project management within CABLEVISION at Madison Square Garden and directing equipment operations at St. John’s University, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from St. John's University.
