Iftekhar Showpnil

Iftekhar Showpnil, PhD, is a Bioinformatics Analyst at Nationwide Children's Hospital since April 2017, where research focuses on the EWS/FLI fusion transcription factor's role in Ewing sarcoma. As a PhD candidate, Iftekhar has conducted extensive research utilizing molecular biology, cell culture, and high-throughput sequencing techniques. Previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at Concordia University, where teaching and research involved training students and synthesizing nanoparticles. Prior roles at Sherwin Williams as an R&D Associate Chemist and Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician involved project management and quality control processes. Iftekhar's early career featured tutoring positions and research assistantships, culminating in a PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from The Ohio State University, along with a Master's degree in the same field and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology from Ohio Wesleyan University.
