Olaitan Awe

Olaitan Awe, Ph.D., serves as a Research IT Systems Analyst II (Bioinformatics) at The Jackson Laboratory since July 2019, specializing in supporting research labs and facilitating data analysis on Google Cloud and high-performance computing clusters. Expertise includes containerizing bioinformatics workflows, teaching programming courses, and optimizing data archiving systems. Prior experience includes a role as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Genomics and Computational Biology Research, where contributions involved developing algorithms and computational models for sequencing data, as well as a visiting bioinformatician position at the National Center for Biotechnology Information. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Ibadan, along with advanced diplomas in Project Management and Leadership from the University of Washington, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, both from the University of Ibadan.
