Native American Rights Fund
Malia Gesuale serves as a Staff Attorney and Blaustein Fellow at the Native American Rights Fund since September 2023. Previously, Malia gained legal experience through a Legal Internship at the U.S. Department of the Interior from January to April 2023. Malia's legal training at Harvard Law School included roles as Public Interest Chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, Teaching Fellow for the Lawyering for Justice program, and Student Attorney in both the Emmett Environmental Law & Policy Clinic and the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative. Prior summer clerkships include positions at the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, Earthjustice within the Tribal Partnerships Program, and the Conservation Law Foundation's Oceans Program. Malia holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Rights specializing in Sustainable Development and Political Science from Columbia University. Additionally, Malia engaged in academic experiences at Jacobs University Bremen in 2017.
