Design Engineer at Native Design

Kane Fernandes has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kane started their career as a Product Designer and Design Engineer at Native Design in 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Ink Extra UK from 2012 to 2021 as a Computer Sales and Repairs Technician, where they handled customer service and device repairs, and also designed displays. Kane also worked at the Jewellery Repair Centre from 2019 to 2020 as a Jewellery/Watch Sales and Repairs Assistant, assisting customers with service requests and managing various tasks. Kane was a Product Designer and Creative Technologist at SMASH_UK (SMASHfestUK) from 2019 to 2020, where they contributed to the development of interactive experiences to promote STEM learning for underprivileged children. Kane served as a Marketing Manager at MDXPD from June 2019 to September 2019. Kane exhibited their final year project as a Product Design BSc student at New Designers in July 2019. Kane also gained teaching experience as a Student Teaching Assistant for Product Design BA/BEng at Middlesex University from October 2018 to May 2019, where they facilitated workshops and engaged with students. Additionally, they took on the role of Student Union Voice Leader for Product Design during the same period. Kane previously worked as a Product Designer and Design Engineer at redLoop: the mdx design & innovation centre from 2017 to 2018, where they worked on live projects and collaborated with clients from various industries. Kane started their career as a Product Designer at STAMP - A Young Enterprise Company from 2013 to 2014.

Kane Fernandes obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Product Design (BSc) with a Diploma in Industrial Studies from Middlesex University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Prior to their university education, they attended Bexley Grammar Sixth Form from 2013 to 2015, where they completed the International Baccalaureate, studying 7 subjects. Before that, from 2008 to 2013, Kane attended Bexley Grammar School for their secondary education and attained their GCSE qualification. Kane also obtained additional certifications, including a Diploma in Industrial Studies (DIS) from Middlesex University in July 2019 and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from The International Baccalaureate in August 2015.
