Zak Wilson has a diverse work experience in the insurance and data analysis field. Zak is currently working as a Senior Predictive Analyst at National Interstate Insurance Company, where they are responsible for analytics leadership, strategy, and R&D related to vehicle telematics data. In this role, they utilize GPS, G-force events, and infractions data to gain insights and understand insurance risk. Zak also serves as a Technical Product Owner for the development of an Enterprise Telematics Data Aggregation Platform.
Prior to this, Zak worked as a Senior Data Analyst at Progressive Insurance. Here, they presented quarterly trend reviews to senior claims leadership, analyzing claims trends in various facets of the business such as Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and Homeowner's Insurance. Zak provided ad-hoc data support and reporting to identify areas for claim process improvement and to uncover the root cause of different claims trends.
Before joining Progressive Insurance, Zak gained valuable experience as a Data Science Intern at BGI, LLC, where they acquired practical skills in data science. Zak also worked as a Graduate Assistant at The University of Akron, contributing to research and academic activities.
Zak's early career experience includes multiple roles at National Interstate Insurance Company. Zak started as a Product Intern, gaining exposure to the insurance industry. Zak then worked as a Marketing Analyst before progressing to become an Associate Predictive Analyst and finally a Predictive Analyst. In these roles, they contributed to various analytical projects and assisted in developing predictive models.

Zak Wilson completed a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics from The University of Akron, from 2011 to 2016. Later, from 2018 to 2020, Zak pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Statistics from the same university. Additionally, Zak obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in January 2021.
