William Urban

William Urban serves as the Chief of Public Affairs at NATO, a role held since May 2022, where responsibilities include leading a team of 15 public affairs officers and acting as the primary spokesman for Allied Joint Force Command Naples. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Public Affairs at U.S. Central Command from April 2018 to April 2022, and as Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Naval Forces Central Command from June 2016 to April 2018, providing counsel to high-ranking officials and managing public communications for large organizations. Urban's career also includes a position as Defense Press Officer in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, focusing on media relations related to the Department of Defense budget and Asia-Pacific defense policy. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Mass Communication/Media Studies from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Literature from the U.S. Naval Academy.
