Sara K.

Sara K. has over 10 years of experience in the field of project management, product innovation, materials development, quality assurance, and production. Sara began their career in 2004 as a Production Assistant at Belle Pointe, followed by a role as a Fiber Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at UC Davis from 2005-2008. In 2008, they held positions as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Mervyns and a Materials Developer for the Flight Series at The North Face, a VF Company. From 2010-2012, they were a Quality Engineer in the Sportswear/Athletic Department at Nike, followed by a role as an Educator at the Peace Corps from 2012-2015. From 2015-2017, they were a Manager of Raw Materials R&D at Spyder Active Sports. In 2019, they established and managed a boutique consulting firm, Compass SW LLC, providing project management services. Currently, they are a Senior Project Manager at Natural Fiber Welding, leading and managing project directives from scaling operations to future-forward sustainable initiatives.

Sara K. has a Master of Science in Textile Science from the University of California, Davis which they obtained in 2007. Sara also has a Bachelor of Science in Textiles and Clothing from The Ohio State University which they obtained in 2005. In addition, Sara has obtained a Certificate of Completion from Asana in July 2021, a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in September 2020, a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance in April 2021, a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in February 2021, and an Open Water Diver from PADI - Bali Hai Diving.
