Merrian Borgeson

Merrian Borgeson serves as the California Director for Climate & Clean Energy and Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since May 2014. Additionally, Merrian holds the position of Board Member at VEIC from June 2022 and Advisory Board Member for Climate Action Pathways for Schools (CAPS) since January 2021. As a Trustee for the Goggio Family Foundation since January 2009, Merrian has also contributed as an Advisory Board Member for the Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) from April 2013 to April 2015. Previous roles include Researcher & Team Lead at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory until May 2014, Principal & Co-Founder of Tule Partners, and Board Chair for Jacaranda Health. Merrian's extensive experience also encompasses various positions at the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) and the Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia from September 2002 to March 2014. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Energy & Resources Group and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a BA in International Relations from Stanford University.
