Ritika Kapoor

Ritika Kapoor, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental research and climate change. Ritika is currently working as a Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Prior to this, Ritika was a Doctoral Research Fellow at the CMCC Foundation - Centro Euro Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici, where they focused on studying climate extremes, particularly heat events, in different climatic zones of the Indian subcontinent. Ritika also investigated the impact of Heat events on the Population Density in India as a Visiting Researcher at the UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering.

Ritika's passion for environmental issues can be seen through their previous roles as a Technical Editor at InsPIRE Network for Environment, where they worked on resource books and technical reports related to forest management and REDD+. Ritika also served as a Research Executive at CMS VATAVARAN and worked on environmental research projects for the traveling film festival.

Following this, from 2009 to 2012, they pursued a B.Sc in Life Sciences at Hans Raj College, University of Delhi. In 2012-2014, Ritika completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Environmental Science from Fergusson College, University of Pune. Later, from 2013 to 2016, they pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law at the National Law School of India University. Finally, Ritika obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Science and Management of Climate Change from Università Ca' Foscari Venezia in 2017-2018.
