Marc Gervais is Vice-President, Strategic, Corporate, and Public Affairs at NSERC. Prior to joining the organization in May 2020, Marc served as Executive Director of the Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC).
Marc has over 20 years of experience in the public sector, specializing in the areas of policy development, project management, cabinet and parliamentary affairs, the machinery of government, strategic planning, issues management, and organizational change. Over the years, Marc has worked in various government departments and agencies, including Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
Marc has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Ottawa, where he specialized in Canadian politics. He is the author of Challenges of Minority Governments in Canada (2011).
