Tim Abbe, PhD, PEG, PHG, is a seasoned professional in geomorphology and environmental science with extensive experience in both academia and industry. As the Principal at Natural Systems Design + Coastal Geologic Services since April 2011 and Chief Science Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Natural Systems Design, Inc. since April 2012, Tim leads initiatives focused on hydrodynamic modeling and sediment transport. In addition, Tim has served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Washington since March 2011, teaching courses in earth science and stream restoration. Prior roles include Principal, Technical Director, and Vice President at Cardno ENTRIX, where Tim oversaw projects on earth surface processes and restoration solutions globally, as well as Principal at Herrera Environmental Consultants and Senior Associate at Philip Williams & Associates, LTD. Tim earned a PhD in Geomorphology, Geology, and Civil Engineering from the University of Washington between 1992 and 1999.
