Antonio Cerullo

Antonio Cerullo is an Associate Editor at Nature Portfolio, specializing in structural biology and protein biophysics, while encompassing various aspects of biochemistry since January 2024. Previously, as a PhD Candidate at the Advanced Science Research Center, GC/CUNY from June 2019 to January 2024, research efforts concentrated on the structure-function relationships of animal mucus for nanomaterial development. Earlier experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Paul Feinstein Laboratory, where studies focused on the spectroscopic properties of engineered fluorescent proteins, and participating in summer research fellowships at The Rockefeller University and Perry Laboratory, investigating viral genome transcription mechanisms using modern molecular biology techniques. Antonio holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, obtained in 2023, and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology from Hunter College and Macaulay Honors College, awarded in 2018.
