Sean O'Brien

Sean T. O'Brien has a diverse work experience that spans several organizations and sectors. Sean T.'smost recent position was as the President and CEO of NatureServe, a nonprofit conservation science and technology organization. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Montpelier Foundation, where they were responsible for various aspects of operations and programing. Sean T. also held the role of Executive Director at the Robert H Smith Center for the Constitution at James Madison's Montepelier, where they oversaw all organizational lines. Earlier in their career, O'Brien worked as the Executive Director of The Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership and as a Circuit Rider at the W. Alton Jones Foundation. Sean T. began their professional journey as a Post Doc at Princeton University.

Sean T. O'Brien pursued their education by first earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. This took place from 1984 to 1988. Sean T. then went on to complete a Junior Year Abroad program at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on Geology/Geography, during the academic year 1986-1987. Subsequently, they returned to the University of Virginia, where they obtained a PhD in Environmental Sciences between 1989 and 1994.
