Alan Laing

Alan Laing is a seasoned professional in finance and regulatory compliance with extensive experience across major financial institutions. Currently serving as the Manager of the Regulatory Programme at NatWest Group since November 2021, Alan leads the management of the Regulatory Compliance Programme, successfully enhancing the Regulatory Control framework. Previously, Alan held a managerial role in the Finance Transformation Programme at abrdn, overseeing compliance and control activities. Alan's significant tenure at the Royal Bank of Scotland included roles such as Head of Finance Data Management and Head of Risk & Control for Global Finance Services, contributing to various critical projects, including the divestment of Tesco Bank. With a solid educational background as a Chartered Accountant from ICAS and a BA (Hons) in Accountancy & Finance from Heriot-Watt University, Alan's expertise spans finance transformation, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
