Michael Schouten

Michael Schouten is an experienced professional in operational risk and analytics, currently serving as the Head of Operational Risk Capital and Analytics at NatWest Group since June 2020. Prior roles include Senior Manager of Operational Risk at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Senior Manager of Model Monitoring at Lloyds Banking Group. Schouten began a career in risk consulting as a Quantitative Financial Risk Consultant at Hymans Robertson and has foundational experience in economic analysis from NERA Economic Consulting. An academic background includes a BA in Economics-Mathematics from Columbia University, an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a PhD in Bioinformatics from The University of Edinburgh.
