Kurt Margenau

Game Director-The Last of Us Part II at Naughty Dog

Kurt Margenau has extensive experience in the video game industry, currently serving as Game Director at Naughty Dog since September 2008. Notably, Kurt co-directed "The Last of Us Part II," which was released on June 19, 2020, alongside Anthony Newman and Neil Druckmann. In addition, Kurt co-directed "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy," released on August 22, 2017, which received a DICE Awards nomination for Best Game Direction. Earlier roles include Lead Game Designer on "Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End," where Kurt contributed significant gameplay mechanics, and various game designer positions across the acclaimed "Uncharted" series and "The Last of Us." Prior to Naughty Dog, Kurt worked as a Gameplay Scripter at Red Fly Studio and holds a B.S. in Computational Media from the Georgia Institute of Technology, augmented by a Film Studies certificate.
