Jim Owens

Jim Owens is an experienced executive and educator with a diverse background in technology and engineering. As the Chief Executive Officer of Nautilus Defense since May 2013, Jim has led the development of advanced textile-integrated systems for monitoring high-value assets. In 2019, Jim founded SewIY, which focuses on providing project-based educational experiences using conductive threads. Additionally, Jim served as an Adjunct Faculty member at IYRS School of Technology & Trades from September 2018 to April 2021. Prior roles include President of Integrated Consulting LLC, Technical Systems Manager at Roger Williams Park Zoo, Associate Engineer at Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc., and Lead Mechanical Technician at Techno-Sciences, Inc.
