David Shields

Major Area Integration Team Lead - Materials And Structures at Naval Sea Systems Command

David Shields has a diverse work experience. David started their career in 2013 as a Tennis Instructor at Tiger Tennis and Fitness. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where they focused on analyzing ocean biology data. From 2016 to 2018, they served as a Mechanical Engineering Analyst at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, specializing in underwater explosions research and development. Since 2017, David has also been an Athlete at DC Breeze Ultimate, LLC. David then joined the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in 2018, initially as a Program Manager/Integration Team Lead for Shock and currently serving as the Major Area Integration Team Lead for Materials and Structures.

David Shields completed their undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania from 2012 to 2016, receiving a BSE in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. David later pursued a Master's degree in Business Analytics at Penn State University from 2019 to 2022.
