Jeanetta Johnson is the current VP, Academics at Navarro College. Jeanetta previously served as the Director of the Navarro College Partnership Program at Texas A&M University-Commerce from July 2010 to January 2018. In this role, they oversaw two offsite A&M-Commerce Navarro College Partnership locations and was responsible for communicating with University and Navarro College administration, faculty, and staff to create new degree offerings, assist with articulation agreements, and produce course schedules. Jeanetta also worked with University deans and department chairs to recruit potential faculty, maintain department standards, enforce University and Navarro College policies and procedures, assist with student discipline, work closely with faculty, assist with faculty mentoring, serve as a student advocate, coordinate services for offsite students, evaluate student transcripts, and advise students. Additionally, they taught courses for the College of Education and Human Services and supervised student teachers in the field. Jeanetta Johnson has also represented the University in the community, participated in chamber of commerce events, and served on committees such as search committees, campus advisory, campus safety, campus carry, and the Midlothian Higher Education Center Advisory Committee. In their previous role, they also worked with the marketing department to create specific marketing material targeted for our demographic and oversaw and maintained local budget.
The educational career for Jeanetta Johnson includes a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), a Master of Education (M.Ed.), and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). Jeanetta also has an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Navarro College. Jeanetta is certified in 4th-8th Grade ELAR Texas Classroom Teacher Certification, EC-4th Grade Generalist Texas Classroom Teacher Certification, ESL Supplemental Texas Classroom Teacher Certification, and Texas Master Reading Teacher Certification.
