Chairman at Navitas Petroleum

With over 20 years of extensive experience initiating and managing Exploration and Production projects worldwide, Gideon serves as the Chairman of Navitas Petroleum.

Gideon is one of the founders and major drivers behind the success of the Eastern Mediterranean Oil and Gas industry. In his former position as Chairman of Delek Drilling and CEO of Avner Oil, Gideon led the successful development of the Yam Tethys project, Israel’s first producing natural gas reservoir discovered in 2000.

Gideon continued to lead the development of the Oil & Gas sector in Israel with the partnerships extremely successful offshore campaigns, providing for the discoveries of over 42 TCF of natural gas in Israel and Cyprus (including the 22 TCF Leviathan field and the 11 TCF Tamar field). Tamar natural gas field has been producing natural gas since 2013.

Gideon holds an LL.B. in Law from Tel Aviv University, Israel, is a member of the Israeli Bar Association and holds the rank of Major in the Israel Defense Force.
