George P. Vlasuk, Ph.D.

George P. Vlasuk, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. George P. started their career as a Research Associate at California Biotechnology Inc. (Scios) in 1983 and later became an Associate Director at Merck in 1985. In 1991, they joined Corvas International as the Chief Scientific Officer and remained in this role until 2003.

From 2003 to 2009, Vlasuk worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, where they initially served as the Vice President of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases. Later, they took on the position of Vice President of Metabolic Disease and Hemophilia Research.

In 2009, Vlasuk joined Sirtris Pharmaceuticals, a GSK Company, as the President and Head, a position they held until 2010. George P. then became the Chief Executive Officer of Sirtris, a GSK Company, from 2010 to 2013.

Vlasuk's most recent role was at Navitor Pharmaceuticals, where they held various positions. George P. started as the President and Chief Executive Officer in 2013 and later became the President and Chief Scientific Officer from 2018 to 2020. Currently, they serve as a Technical Consultant at Navitor Pharmaceuticals.

George P. Vlasuk, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Clinical Chemistry at the University of South Florida from 1975 to 1977. George P. then pursued their Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Biochemistry at Kent State University from 1977 to 1981. Following this, they continued their studies at Stony Brook University from 1981 to 1983, where they completed a Postdoctoral program in Molecular Biology.
