Nell Becker Sweeden

Nell Becker Sweeden is a seasoned academic and leader in the field of theology, currently serving as a Professor of Christian Theology at Nazarene Theological Seminary since 2023 and as the Global Director & CEO of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries since June 2016. With prior experience as an Assistant Professor of Theology at George Fox Evangelical Seminary (2013-2016) and as a Global Program and Education Coordinator for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (2007-2016), Nell has also contributed as an adjunct instructor at Northwest Nazarene University (2012-2014) and Eastern Nazarene College (2011-2012). Academically, Nell holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Practical Theology from Boston University (2007-2012), a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Nazarene Theological Seminary (2004-2007), and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Spanish and Philosophy/Theology from Point Loma Nazarene University.
