Velena Jones

Velena Jones is an experienced reporter and fill-in anchor currently working at NBC Bay Area since May 2022. Prior roles include news reporter and fill-in anchor at KOVR-TV | CBS Sacramento, KOIN-TV, and WISC-TV, where responsibilities encompassed shooting, writing, and editing stories for broadcast and web, as well as engaging with viewers on social media. Velena also has experience as an anchor, reporter, and news director at WBKB-TV 11, where management of the news and sports departments was a key responsibility. Early career roles included news assistant at KABC and various internships at NBC News and NBCUniversal, focusing on show production assistance. Velena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Biola University, earned in 2012.
