Valentina Mele

Valentina Mele is currently a Lab Manager at NBE-Therapeutics AG, a role they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Research Associate in Tumor Heterogeneity Metastasis and Resistance Group at University Hospital Basel from 2020-2022. From 2019-2020, they were a CMC Project Associate at Auris Medical AG. From 2015-2019, they were a Project Leader in the Cancer Immunotherapy group at the Department of Biomedicine at University of Basel, where they investigated the crosstalk between tumor and stromal components in human colorectal cancer (CRC). From 2010-2015, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Oncology Surgery group at University Hospital Basel and University of Basel. Valentina obtained their PhD in Clinical and Pathological Morphology from the University of Naples \"Federico II\" in 2006, where they worked in the Anatomy department of the University Hospital \"Federico II\" of Naples. Her research focused on the isolation, expansion and characterization of primary fibroblasts from sclerodermic skin to evaluate the oxidative stress and of primary cells from aortic resection to study apoptotic phenomena and oxidative stress.

Valentina Mele has an extensive educational background. Valentina obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Clinical and Pathological Morphology from the University of Naples "Federico II" in 2009, following an internship in Oncology Surgery Group at the University Hospital Basel. Valentina also earned a Master's degree in Biology from the same university in 2006 and a Bachelor's degree in General and Applied Biology from the University of Naples "Federico II" in 2004. Additionally, Valentina Mele has obtained various certifications, including Project Management for Researchers from the University of Basel in 2016, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for Investigators and Study teams from Swissethics in 2016, Professional Certificate in GCP and Clinical Research from Catalyst Clinical Services Pvt. Ltd. in 2016, and Education and Training of Persons Conducting Animal Experiments from the University of Zürich - Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Association (FELASA) in 2010.
