Nima Rafati is a Bioinformatics Data Scientist at NBIS – National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden since March 2019, with a rich background in bioinformatics and genetics. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at Uppsala University's Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology and Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology. Nima holds a PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics from Uppsala University and has completed multiple Master's degrees in Animal Breeding and Genetics from institutions such as SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Wageningen University. Nima's research focuses on identifying genetic factors associated with phenotypic traits and diseases, alongside extensive experience in transcriptome analysis and whole genome assembly.

NBIS is a distributed national bioinformatics infrastructure, supporting life sciences in Sweden. NBIS will enable world-class life science by providing expert knowledge, creative data integration, advanced training, efficient data publication and access to high-performance data and analysis methods. NBIS will continue coordinating bioinformatics support within Sweden and make bioinformatics easily accessible for life science researchers.
