Portia Pope, Ph.D., MPA, PMP, LSSGB, NCCM, IMH-E®, currently serves as the Acting Director of the Office of Minority Health at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and previously held the position of Director at Durham's Children's Developmental Services Agency. With extensive experience at DLH Corporation as National Field Operations Manager for Federal Head Start Monitoring, Portia provided administrative oversight for monitoring reviews involving over 900 grantees and managed a virtual team across 14 states. Portia holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Shaw University, where a Bachelor of Science in Social Work was also obtained. Additionally, Portia earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Human Services from Roanoke-Chowan Community College and is currently pursuing a certificate in R-Programming Data Analytics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
