AVP And Co-director, Organizational Health at NCARB

Heather Coles has extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Heather began their career in 2008 at Raffa, PC, where they worked as a Senior Human Resources Generalist II until 2010. In 2010, they joined the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and held various roles within the organization's human resources department. Heather served as the Assistant Director of Human Resources from April 2010 to February 2019, and then advanced to the position of Assistant Vice President of Human Resources from March 2019 to June 2020. Currently, they are the AVP and Co-Director of Organizational Health at NCARB.

Heather Coles, PHR, SHRM-CP, CPCC, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Radford University. Heather further pursued their education by attaining a Master of Science degree in Adult Education from Virginia Tech.

In addition to their formal education, Heather has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional expertise. These include a Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from HRCI, acquired in July 2019, and a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM, obtained in July 2015.

Heather also holds a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) certification from the Co-Active Training Institute, earned in August 2020. Alongside these certifications, they have acquired other qualifications such as the L&D's Playbook for the Digital Age certification from Allen Academy, received in July 2021. Additionally, they have obtained the Gender Inclusive Language Digital Badge from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in May 2023, and the Realistic Strategies to Talk about Mental Health at Work certification from LinkedIn in May 2023.
