Michael Armstrong

Michael Armstrong began their work experience as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Aurora, Colorado in 1981. Michael then went on to work as the Executive Director for the Colorado Democratic Party from 1992 to 1993. Following that, they held the position of Deputy Director at the Colorado Governor's Office of Energy Conservation from 1993 to 1994. Armstrong then joined FEMA, where they served as the Region VIII Director from 1994 to 1997 and later as the Associate Director from 1997 to 2001. Michael continued their career at ICF International as the Vice President from 2001 to 2006. From 2007 to 2011, Armstrong worked as the Senior Vice President at the International Code Council. Currently, they hold the role of Chief Executive Officer at the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Michael Armstrong earned a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and English respectively from the University of Colorado Boulder in the years 1973 to 1977. Following this, they pursued a Juris Doctorate degree in Law at Pepperdine Law from 1977 to 1980.
