Tim W. Lawrence

Tim W. Lawrence is an experienced educational consultant currently serving as the State Education Liaison for NCCER since April 2021, where responsibilities include collaborating with state education agencies to update CTE leaders on industry developments. Previously, Tim Lawrence held the position of Executive Director at SkillsUSA from July 1996 to November 2021, focusing on developing a skilled workforce through partnerships among students, teachers, and industry. Additional experience includes roles as Director of Business and Industry Partnerships at the Virginia Department of Education/Virginia State University, and Vocational Student Organization Specialist and Executive Director of SkillsUSA Virginia. Early career experience includes teaching welding and fabrication at the Tazewell County Career and Technical Center, and supervisory positions at Kersey Manufacturing Company, overseeing welding and fabrication operations for various industrial products. Tim Lawrence holds degrees from James Madison University and Virginia Tech.
