Alamhir Gutierrez

Alamhir Gutierrez has extensive experience in leadership and advocacy, currently serving on the Board of Directors for CentroNia and as President of the CentroNia Alumni Association. Since July 2012, Gutierrez has been an Expert with the National Council on Disability. Previous roles include National Director of Workforce Development for Veteran and Latino Affairs at the National Education Foundation and a staff position with the United States Senate Diversity Initiative under Majority Leader Harry Reid. Gutierrez began a career in the United States Senate as a Staff Assistant from 2008 to 2011. Gutierrez earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Politics and Policy from Tulane University in 2007.

National Council on Disability

NCD became an independent federal agency in 1984. In 1986, NCD recommended the enactment of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and drafted the first version of the bill which was introduced in the House and Senate in 1988.
