Nazia Sarder

Nazia Sarder is a seasoned transportation engineer with over 13 years of experience at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), currently serving as Transportation Engineer III and Team Lead in the Transportation Planning Division. Nazia has developed and created Comprehensive Transportation Plans and Travel Demand Models, while managing various Metropolitan and Rural Planning Organizations. Previous roles within NCDOT include Transportation Engineer II, overseeing multiple transportation projects for various planning organizations in the coastal region, and Transportation Engineer I, focusing on projects in the mountainous areas. Nazia began the career with an 18-month rotation program as a Transportation Engineering Associate, gaining cross-functional experience across different divisions. Prior to NCDOT, Nazia worked as a Structural Engineering Research Assistant and Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, contributing to bridge analysis and soil testing. Nazia holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
