Ryan Brumfield

Ryan Brumfield is currently the Director of Strategic Initiatives at NCDOT, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this role, Ryan served as Director and Interim Director in the NCDOT Integrated Mobility Division from April 2020 to October 2023, following the position of Innovations and Data Branch Manager. Ryan's experience also includes serving as Senior Transportation Advisor for the Appalachian Regional Commission from October 2017 to April 2020, and various roles at the Federal Highway Administration from August 2010 to September 2017, including TIGER Program Manager and Safety Engineer. Early career experience includes internships at Parsons Brinckerhoff, the Federal Aviation Administration, Kubilins Transportation Group, and NCDOT. Ryan holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
