Pinar Heggernes

Pinar Heggernes serves as the Deputy Rector at the University of Bergen, focusing on education and digital knowledge since January 2001. In addition, Pinar Heggernes holds a professorship in the Department of Informatics and has led the department as Head. Current roles include Chair of the Portfolio Board for Enabling Technologies at Norges forskningsråd and a member of the Norwegian Committee on Skill Needs for the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills. Pinar Heggernes also contributes as a board member for NCE Finance Innovation and Simula Research Laboratory. Previous positions include Board Member at Norges forskningsråd and Chair of the Board of Directors for NORA – The Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium. Visiting professorships were held at Bogazici University and the University of Oregon. Pinar Heggernes earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Bergen.
